Each one of these unique Kyomaï cuffs is up-cycled from a vintage Jacquard silk obi belt, sourced in Kyoto, and handcrafted in an haute couture atelier in Reims, France.
Every cuff tells its own story. This design features a traditional hexagon of red and gold, with a black suede lining. The hexagonal ‘kikko’ motif, inspired by the pattern on the shell of a tortoise, represents longevity and good fortune. The hexagon also appears on traditional samurai armor design. This bracelet would make an unusual good luck gift.
Presented in a pouch to protect it when not worn, each cuff is delivered in a Paulownia wood case, traditionally used in Japan to store obi and kimono.
Measures 6cm diameter and 5cm long and weighs 60g. Case measures 10 x 10 x 7.5 cm.
