Aged bronze-coloured metal necklace with 3.25 inch motif featuring Egyptian goddess, Isis, and 7 inch long chain. Although not marked with the official house logo, we believe from the item’s provenance and notes of the former owner that this is an original late 1960s Biba piece, although it may have been a part of the Egyptian themed collection at Derry & Toms in the early 1970s.
According to our sources, Biba's jewellery was not always custom made, and often sourced from trade fairs in Paris and Milan. There were also occasional buying trips to Tunisia, and the Casbah on the ground floor of Big Biba was stocked with pieces picked up on travels form Turkey via Beirut to Morocco.
This piece is in good vintage condition.
