Curiously, there’s a popular belief that Biba garments were poorly made. The fact that this late 1960s grey and dusky rose knitted jumper is still around today is because of the high quality wool from which it is made.
This is very much a style of its era, and may have been worn as a minuscule mini dress measuring just 24 inches long when fully stretched. The ultra long (10 inch) ribbed roll neck collar is also characteristic of Biba’s designs. This version has striped sleeves too.
The item is in excellent vintage condition and would fit a UK size 6-8. This has an original 1960s Biba label. According to my sources, the piece was probably manufactured in Hong Kong.
